Historic buildings in need of repair are often described as buildings at risk and there are various ways in which these are identified. For buildings of high architectural and historic quality, the starting point is reference to the information held by English Heritage. Evidence of other buildings at risk can sometimes be found in local authority records or in those held by local civic trusts or other amenity groups.
Alternatively information on a specific building at risk may be received by the Trust from an individual or local group. The Trust is not able to review all of the 15,000 plus listed buildings in Wiltshire so welcomes information provided by others. If you are aware of a neglected historic building that you believe should be rescued please let us know and we will investigate.
